Bexhill coach leads ladies to a league title triumph

Karl Davy, has helped a Lewes women’s football team net a top of the league slot. The branch manager of Sussex Beds in Hailsham is celebrating success as he has helped Lewes Women’s Foundation Squad finish top of the South East Counties Women’s League. Karl began coaching the team a year ago. They finished in fifth place out of all seven teams in the table.

Team rises rapidly up the ranks

The one and a half hour training a week and eleven matches of the season saw the team rise rapidly up the ranks. They finished this season in first place in Division One West. Karl says: “My involvement in women’s football stems from watching my cousin play for the England team.  I knew I wanted to help develop the women’s game. I have been volunteering for more than 11 years now, coaching teams as they compete for the top spot.

Practice really does make perfect!

“The team are all under 18 years old. I’m so proud of all the hard work they put in to their matches.  It proves that practice really does make perfect!”
